VastuCalc Terms of Service

Applies to the VastuCalc mobile application (package in.sagarkhengat.vastucalc).

1. Agreement

These terms are between you and the developer of VastuCalc (“we”, “us”). By installing or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app. Your use is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

2. What VastuCalc is — and is not

VastuCalc is a planning and record-keeping tool for Indian house construction. It produces preliminary material quantities and cost estimates, and helps you track budgets, expenses, progress and documents.

VastuCalc is not:

• a structural design tool. It does not size beams, columns, footings, slabs or reinforcement, and must never be used to decide whether a structure is safe;
• a substitute for a licensed structural engineer, architect or surveyor;
• an approved architectural drawing, sanctioned plan, or engineering certification;
• a professional Vastu Shastra certification. Vastu and room-planning features are guidance for discussion with an architect or consultant;
• a source of live market rates. Rates are your own entries or indicative defaults, and go out of date;
• accounting, tax, legal or financial advice.

3. Estimates are approximate

Every quantity and cost the app produces is an approximation from the inputs you provide. Real construction cost varies materially with soil conditions, design, local labour and material rates, transport, wastage, specifications, statutory charges and time. Verify any figure with your contractor, engineer or supplier before relying on it, committing money, or entering a contract. You are responsible for decisions you make using the app.

3a. The whole-house cost estimator

The house construction cost estimator reports a range — a low, typical and high figure — and never a single precise number, because a single number would imply a certainty that does not exist. It is a planning aid built on indicative regional rates, reviewed on the date shown alongside the result, and it becomes less accurate as those rates age.

It is not a quotation, tender, valuation, or offer, it is not a substitute for a priced bill of quantities from a contractor or quantity surveyor, and it is not financial advice. Do not rely on it alone to buy land, apply for or size a home loan, agree a contract price, or commit to a build. The figure excludes land, approvals, interiors, taxes and price escalation unless the result explicitly states otherwise — read the inclusions and exclusions shown with every estimate, because contracts priced on different scopes are not comparable numbers.

4. Your account

You may use VastuCalc as a guest (an anonymous account) or sign in with Google or your phone number. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure. A guest account has no email or phone number attached and therefore cannot be recovered if you uninstall the app or clear its data — sign in to make your account recoverable.

You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your country. VastuCalc is intended for adults and is not directed to children.

5. Your content

Project details, ledger entries, contacts, photographs and documents you add remain yours. You grant us only the permission needed to operate the service for you — storing, backing up, syncing and displaying your content in the app, and processing it to produce the outputs you ask for, such as reports and PDF exports.

You confirm that you have the right to upload what you upload, and that it does not infringe anyone’s rights or break any law. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you record, including financial figures shared with a contractor or client.

6. Acceptable use

Do not: break the law with the app; upload malware; attempt to access another user’s data; reverse-engineer, resell or redistribute the app except as the law allows; use it to harass anyone; scrape it or overload the service; or misrepresent its output as certified engineering or an approved plan.

7. VastuCalc Pro, billing and refunds

• Paid plans are sold through Google Play Billing and managed by RevenueCat. We never receive your card or bank details.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel any time in the Play Store, or in the app under Settings → Manage Subscription. Cancelling stops the next renewal; access continues to the end of the paid period.
• Refunds are handled under Google Play’s refund policy. Contact us and we will help.
• Prices may change. We will give notice before a change affects a renewal, and a change never applies to a period you have already paid for.
• Free-tier use is supported by advertising. Ads are never shown on invoice, quotation, client-report, quality-check or account settings screens.

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep VastuCalc available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Features may be added, changed or removed. We may update the app, and updates may be required for it to keep working. If we discontinue a paid feature you have bought, we will provide a reasonable remedy.

9. Your data and backups

The app works offline-first and backs your work up to your account when connected. Keep your own copies of anything critical — use the export and PDF features for records that matter. We are not liable for data loss caused by device failure, uninstalling the app, losing access to an anonymous guest account, or a sync interrupted by connectivity.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, VastuCalc is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that estimates are accurate or that the app is error-free.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, construction cost overruns, project delays, or disputes with a contractor, client or supplier arising from your use of the app.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) ₹1,000.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

12. Third-party services

The app uses Google Firebase, Google Sign-In, Google AdMob, Google Play Billing and RevenueCat. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to their parts of the service. We are not responsible for third-party services or for content shown in advertisements.

13. Ending your use

You may stop using VastuCalc at any time and request deletion of your account through our deletion form. We may suspend or end access if you break these terms, or if required by law. Sections that by their nature should survive — content ownership, disclaimers, liability limits and governing law — continue to apply afterwards.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts of Maharashtra, India have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere. Nothing here removes rights you have under India’s Consumer Protection Act or equivalent law where you live.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, an in-app notice. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

These terms apply to the VastuCalc application and are provided for its users and, where required, its distribution platforms.
